Telehealth – Legal And Practical Challenges – To Be Covered At Health Law Meeting Next Week

November 14, 2019

The provision of healthcare remotely by means of telecommunications technology – “telehealth” – is now a mainstream concept and growing rapidly. Its implementation requires significant regulatory compliance, and introduces a new set of business relationships among physicians, hospitals, insurers, telehealth networks and the patients they serve. Not surprisingly, healthcare lawyers are doing their best to assist in the evolution of telehealth services. Toward that end, the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Health Law Section meeting program on November 21 will be devoted to this topic.

The program will address –

  • the current state of the law on telehealth
  • uncertainties in the law and regulations
  • the scope of behavioral telehealth
  • the scope of pediatric telehealth
  • other fields suitable for telehealth

The program’s speakers include –

  • Kim Ringler, Esq., Chair of the Health Law Section (Moderator)
  • Geoffrey Boyce, CEO of Insight Telepsychiatry, LLC
  • Richard Brodsky, M.D., Director of Pediatric Telemedicine at RWJBarnabas
  • Grace Mack, a healthcare attorney and partner at Wilentz

The program is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Law Center in New Brunswick. It includes dinner, and CLE credits are available. Registration information is available on the NJSBA website.

I plan to attend, and hope to see you there!
